Courtney & Jarrett: All Aboard for Love...

Courtney and Jarrett are just adorable, and super unique, so it was no surprise that they wanted to get married on a boat! I was so excited to be a part of their special day - which turned out absolutely beautiful on lake Ray Hubbard outside of Rockwall, TX.

The couple said their vows amongst family and friends during an hour long ceremony aboard a private boat,"The Seawolf", followed by an intimate reception at, "The Grill" on the quaint Rockwall square. This restaurant was so cool, as it used to be an old bank multiple decades ago. The floor and brick are still in the original condition, making it really original... just like the new Mr. & Mrs. Adolf... Congratulations guys!

The reception was casual, chic, and relaxed just like the couple. Guests loved the picture line with photos of the couple growing up and through the years while they dined on their choice of dinner, choosing their choice with cute little cards that Courtney made. Just adorable!

Congratulations C&J - I wish you a lifetime of tie-dyed cakes, giraffes and rabbits... and rock and roll.

You Won't Find These In The Attic...

You know the drill - day after Thanksgiving agenda: Christmas tree time! Out come the pre-lit trees in traditional greens, possibly some whites, or the select few families that boast a red or pink tree... So, to get everyone in the Christmas spirit, I have compiled some trees that are really stand out, from Sparklette who feature, "Christmas Tree of The Day". They showcase a different fabulous tree each day of the month until Christmas. Below are some from their archives; as well as some personal favorites! So, even if you don't necessarily want one in your living room, (who wouldn't?!)  maybe the below will inspire you to do a totally different tree this year, or at the VERY least, put one up!.... Now, go wrap the tinsel and hang some mistle-toe... It's DECEMBER!!

Tree made completely out of crystals ... don't mind if I do!

Enjoy!

Out With The Turkey, In With The Pretty!

I know your dying to look at something other than a stuffed turkey in the center of your table since Thanksgiving has now come and gone, so why not put together a fabulous table to do the trick!  Here are some inspirations for you from another one of my table designs! A personal favorite with pops of orange, with tonal blues, greens, and teals will help liven up the room after the turkey coma has set in and before the Christmas rush begins!

Teal charger plates and vintage yellow dishes with the POP of bright orange silk napkin... paired with my favorite striped table cloth make this appropriate for all seasons, unlike a white shoe after labor day...

I love this centerpiece, made for me by my pals at Bows & Arrows. I told them I wanted something CRAZY unique and wah-lah! Are those real fruit pieces in the bouquet? Why, yes, yes they are...

Adding twigs and small florals to simple colored glass ware adds so much and costs so little! These name cards are some of my FAVORITE. I love the butterflies on the glasses & I am dying for a party where I can use the shrimp place cards on the side of the glass, its adorable!

So! Clear out the turkey, the carving stations and yams, to make room for the glasses, the butterflies and GLAM!

This One's For The Boys...

I know amongst all the wedding planning, finding the most adorable hairstyle, the perfect dress and stand out shoes, you might forget about some minor details... like the GROOM! ha!

So, to help include him in the big day, I propose doing an area for him and his boys to stand around, have a brew, and talk about how lucky he is to have snagged you... and our fabulous vintage bike table (seen previously on my site)

How fun would it be to do something like this as a surprise for him at the reception with his favorite drinks and snacks, fully customized to him?! Look at your left hand... its the least you can do! ;)

Here are some detailed shots of the table sure to make him the happiest boy in the world, and you the coolest wife ever!

View from the top of our custom bike table - the see through glass top makes it sturdy and super cool.

This is our first bike, but more are in works to coincide with different color schemes, etc!

I love the miniature hand held books I found: "Pick-Ups and Come On's", "Stuff Every Man Should Know", and of course, "Insults and Comebacks".

For the Record, I LOVE Retro Soirees, Vintage Parties...

For those that have not caught on, I like to create an identifiable title starting with an R, S, V, & P to coincide with the theme, and this is no different! My Retro Soirees, Vintage Parties table idea came to me while driving home and listening to the radio!

I LOVE all things vintage and old records are no exception! I found a whole slew of records at a garage sale sold to me by a wonderful woman who listened to them when she was a girl! One of the best vintage finds is a total gem of person like this her - hope you like the table my fabulous elderly friend Lucretia!

All the colored centers, the black rim, song titles,  just SO fab! So, I thought.... what if I used THAT for a charger plate in lieu of traditional saucers. Wa-la! You now have my newest addition to the RSVP family! I love the idea of using only records with love song titles for a funky fun wedding. Using clear glass plates you are able to see right through to the record while also giving it a glossy finish! How cool would this be for a party or wedding for a music lover - I know, so cool.

I also incorporated vintage soda bottles (orange is my fave!) vintage glasses, and some super cool handmade felted wool decorative balls in the floral arrangement. Made by hand by DemarestDesigns they are super fun and eco friendly to boot!

More pics to come soon!

Hope you enjoy as much as I do!
