Go Ahead, Judge This Book By It’s Cover...

It’s supremely cracked, torn and wonderfully delicious vintage cover that is. Initially perplexed at the Aldredge House on what to use for a centerpiece, while designing Danielle’s bridal shoot, the answer was there... high on a shelf. Books. Loads of literature for the taking!

So, with some help from the fabulous Amy Karp, I stacked, leaned, propped and styled leather bound stories for a conversation worthy centerpiece. Miniature birds and nests perched on every vintage china placesetting... and, no linens? Great! Using pages from the books... I created my own custom table runner. Plus - no dirty table cloths! Vintage gloves and a strand of pearls strung from the chandelier completed the look.

It just goes to show, that necessity truly is the mother of invention... and mom’s are always right.

Enjoy!

Personally, I love the miniature birds and nest place settings... If I do say so myself...

Tied on every hand wrapped placesetting - cinnamon sticks of course!

So, unfortunately for technology, there are some things that the “Kindle" and “Nook" can’t do...

More to come soon, until then... might I suggest a good book?

xoxo
