Practice Makes Perfect: {Beth & Ron Rehearsal Dinner}

As you all know, rehearsal dinners are the predecessor to the wedding day and reception. Beth Walker and Ron Hall’s took place at  “The Pool on The Harbor” on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake. Sipping their signature drink (and my new favorite), “Basil Lime Chiller”, feasting on Chef Steve’s handmade yukatan tacos made fresh on an outside grill, dancing to their favorite music, all while overlooking the infinity pools - it was a picture perfect night! 

Guests were given custom drink recipes as favors, made by the fabulous Southern Fried Paper!

Beth wanted me to design her rehearsal, as well as her reception & wedding, which I love! Having a consistent “feel” the whole weekend, makes for a cohesive and beautiful wedding, especially when it is more of a “destination” location such as theirs. Here is a sneak peek of some pictures I snapped while getting ready for the big day.

The staff at, “The Harbor” were nothing short of amazing, I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Sugar & Ruffles {Shops at Brownstone}

RSVP is so excited to be a vendor at, "The Shops at Brownstone" new wedding boutique perfectly entitled, "Sugar and Ruffles" which focuses on all things WEDDING and PARTY!!

The space, a brain child of my great friend and colleague, Heidi, owner of Sugar Bee Sweets, has expanded her current location to now include vendors, giving the bride an all inclusive experience!

We are gearing up for some fresh new designs to showcase just for this special space... I can't wait to share it with you all when I am done! For now, here are some snap shots of a small, casual table Heidi asked me to do to spruce the place up for the vendor invitational. I was happy to get to use my new vintage coffee cups - fly. duh!

The sweet, red velvet cake loving, wedding photographer Catie Ronquillo was there to take these snapshots, and we are so happy she did! Also, a shout out to my mother-in-law Bobbie who might recognize a certain vintage lamp centerpiece used! I need to come back and get some more goodies!

Here are just a few snapshots! Sadly, I have been so busy,  the blog is the last to get lovin' but hopefully after Beth & Ron's big wedding this weekend I will have some down time to get some more pictures up!

Nautical.... and Nice!

I am getting SO excited for the lake side wedding of Ron Hall and Beth Walker. You might recognize Ron’s name from his wonderfully touching book, “Same Kind of Different As Me”. If you haven’t read, The New York Times and I HIGHLY suggest it! 

When Beth and I first met, we were friends at first sight! However, she was stuck on what to do with her chosen colors, something that would embody the rustic elegance and classic style that are her and Ron. That is where I came in! 

Here is a sneak peek of some of the items I am getting ready for her big day at, “The Harbor” on Possum Kingdom Lake. It is such a beautiful venue, and I have seen a glimpse of her dress from Stanley Korshak - BREATHTAKING! 

Maybe I also feel a sense of kindredness to them because they are getting married the same weekend that I did just one year ago to my highschool sweetheart Bo!

I can’t believe its already almost a year for us - time flies when your with the one you love!

      

I am obsessed with this cute cake banner! I know Heidi at Sugar Bee Sweets will adore having this pop out of her delicious cake! 

            

T-Minus 23 days until the big day! I can’t help it, I just love when my brides get married, I can’t wait!

 avant-garde:

• noun:   any creative group active in the innovation and application of new concepts and techniques in a given field (especially in the arts)
• adjective:   radically new or original

Doing the below Avant-Garde shoot was one of my favorites! It definitely challenged all of us... (save Alicia from Bows & Arrows, as this is her forte) to really push the envelope and create a scene for that bride who might want something un-barred, charged, and so completely, “avant-garde”
